⭐ The Night the Lights Went Out (Grades 4–8)
When a short circuit plunges the school Hanukkah play into darkness, a group of kids must improvise with shadows, flashlights, and imagination. From the performers who wanted to be “stars” to the student afraid to go onstage, the ensemble discovers that the true magic of Hanukkah—and theater—comes from working together.
Themes: Creativity, teamwork.
⭐ The Unbroken Jar (Grades 3–7)
Meet the ancient jar that once carried the precious oil used to light the menorah in the Temple. Through encounters with the potter, the merchant, the farmer, the olive tree, the Maccabees, and even the menorah itself, this play reveals how every being—large or small—helped bring light back into the world.
Themes: Interconnection, miracles through people.
⭐ Miri and the Missing Dreidel (Grades 3–7)
On her way to teach her class about Hanukkah, Miri loses her beloved “lucky” dreidel. Upset but determined, she finds the resilience to continue—with joyful help from the lively letters Nun, Gimel, Hey, and Shin. Together, they show her she had the courage and knowledge within her all along.
Themes: Learning, courage, lighthearted fun.
⭐ The Scared Shamash (PreK–2)
A worried shamash candle isn’t sure it’s brave or bright enough to do its important job. Through gentle encounters with the other candles, the shamash learns that being a helper makes the whole hanukkiyah glow.
Themes: Belonging, purpose, self-confidence.
